About the James Cook University – James Cook University (JCU) is a public university in North Queensland, Australia. About the Scholarship – The Richard Hays Bursary, established in 2006, is backed by the medical community of North Queensland and the College of Medicine and Dentistry in honor of Professor Richard Hays, the college’s founding dean. The Richard Hays Bursary at James Cook University in 2024 is available for students studying for a degree in medicine (MBBS/MD).The College of Medicine & Dentistry will provide annual donations to sustain the bursary. This scholarship is open for all nationals.
Eligibility Criteria – To be eligible for the scholarship a candidate must meet the following criteria:
- Enrolled in Year 5 or 6 of the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at JCU
- Prepared to attend and present at an approved conference
