About Directorate of Medical Education Research – Directorate of Medical Education and Research was established on May 1, 1970. This Directorate guides and oversees the administration of Government Medical Colleges and Hospitals and their affiliated Health Centres, Nursing Education Institutes Mumbai and Government Dental Colleges and Hospitals.
About the scholarship – This scholarship is for students whose parent’s annual Income is below 8,00,000 and student whose parents are marginal land holder and registered labourers. The scholarship provides –
- Hostel maintenance allowance for students with annual income less than 8,00,000: Rs.30,000 per year for Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, and Aurangabad; and Rs.20,000 per year for other locations (for 10months in an academic year).
- Hostel maintenance allowance for students whose parents are aplabhudharak shetkari/registered labourers: Rs.30,000 per year for Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, and Aurangabad and Rs.20,000 per year for other locations (for 10months in an academic year).
Eligibility criteria –
- For Students who had taken admission for MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BPTH, B.SC Nursing, BUMS, BP & O, BASLP in government aided/corporation/private un-aided colleges in Maharashtra only.
- Family’s Annual income is less than equal to Rs.8,00,000 .
- For students whose parents are Alpabhudharak Shetkari/registered labourers.
- Candidates are eligible those who have taken an admission under general category and SEBC category
