Wenner-Gren Foundation – Wenner-Gren Foundation is offering Dissertation Fieldwork Grants to provide support for doctoral or research thesis. This grant program provides funding for research leading to doctorates or theses that increase on understanding of anthropology to advance the understanding of what it means to be human, The aim is to promote dynamic and important work. Any approach, study site, subject, or subfield is acceptable. Proposals that unite two or more subfields and introduce novel concepts and methodologies are especially encouraged by the Foundation.
About the Scholarship – Dissertation Fieldwork Grants 2024 is offered for PhD degree in the field of Anthropology. This scholarship is provided by Wenner-Gren Foundation and the value of this scholarship is $25,000 . This scholarship is open for all nationals. The foundation is especially interested in proposals that combine two or more subfields and introduce innovative approaches and ideas.
Eligibility Criteria – To be eligible for the Dissertation Fieldwork Grants 2024 Scholarship, candidates must:
- Candidates must be currently enrolled for a doctoral degree.
- Qualified applicants are eligible regardless of their nationality or institutional or departmental affiliation.
- Applicants of Dissertation Fieldwork Grants are required to complete all the requirements for the doctoral degree.
- The application must be made jointly with a dissertation supervisor or other scholar who will undertake responsibility for supervising the project.
- Applicants and supervisors must agree to comply with the Requirements and Conditions of the Dissertation Fieldwork Grant.
- Candidates who already hold a doctorate irrespective of the field are not eligible to apply for Dissertation Fieldwork Grants.

Stipend – Partial funding £25,000.
Application Deadline – May 1 (for project start dates between January 1 and June 30 of the following year) and November 1 (for project start dates between July 1 and December 31 of the following year). The application portal opens 2 months before the deadline. It takes 6 months to complete the review process and arrive at a final decision.
