Greetings, fellow food enthusiasts and health-conscious individuals! I’m Dr. Anjana.P, a dentist with over 4 years of experience in general dentistry. I am currently pursuing my master’s in nutrition with specialisation in food safety and quality management. I’m also a proud mother of two young children. I aspire to be an entrepreneur in the food industry.
These are the many hats I have donned all these years. Apart from these I also nurture a few other interests such as singing, art and writing. Writing has been something that I have always been passionate about. When I was looking to enhance my writing skills and learn the intricate nuances of it, I realised that taking an internship opportunity for the same would help me.
That is when I came across Coachminister’s internship for healthcare blog writing and LinkedIn marketing. This seemed as a great opportunity for me, as I come from a medical background and it involved writing about it! As a part of the internship I am responsible for writing SEO friendly blogs for the company’s website and also manage our LinkedIn page.
Currently, I have completed a month with Coachminister. It has been a really amazing experience to see how a startup company works. Also understand how its founders build their presence from up close with the help of various social media platforms. This is my first exposure to working at a company outside dentistry. So far, it has been a great learning experience.
During the course of this 1 month, I have written a few blogs for the website and created a few posts for our LinkedIn page. Each blog and post has taught me something new, not just how it is structured or how it is designed, but also how it needs to be presented. I also have the importance of keeping your audience engaged. The feedback on how to make it reader friendly and placing yourself in their shoes has given a complete new dimension to my writing.
I would like to specifically talk about my first blog writing experience. As with any new beginner, I had my own set of apprehensions as to how my blog will turn out to be. But, rest assured the process was great!. During the course, I learnt how much of research goes into writing a well informed blog. Sending my first draft was a bit nerve wracking! But, the feedback received and according corrections made improved the overall quality of the blog. That’s how my first blog went live. I felt a sense of accomplishment!
Following this, my writing has improved, I am more comfortable with the use of technology and I am also learning the important skill of time management, juggling between my studies and internship.
One of the things I’ve enjoyed most about my internship is the opportunity to work with a team of talented and experienced professionals. My supervisor’s unwavering support and guidance have been instrumental in improving my writing. His attention to minute details has helped me hone my writing skills.
The regular feedback sessions have provided invaluable insights and have broadened my perspectives. There is an emphasis on setting a clear goal and working towards achieving the same. I have also received training material for improving my design skills, which has helped me work on my weaker links. I really appreciate the efforts taken by the team at Coachminister to go above and beyond in helping their interns.
Learning how to write SEO friendly blogs has been quite interesting so far. On the other hand, the LinkedIn posts have taught me a thing or 2 about designing. Overall, I have had an incredible experience during this month. Looking forward to more learning from my internship opportunity.
